An amazing dessert recipe prepared using flavored and sweetened milk combined with slightly fried bread triangles.
- Saffron (few strands)
- 1/2 Litre Milk
- 10 Bread Slices
- 2 Tbsp Melted Ghee
- Sugar / Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
- 4 tbsp Cooking Cream
- Evaporated Milk (optional)
- Chopped Nuts
- Edible Silver Paper
Take square sliced bread. Remove thin corners and cut them in to half triangles.
Now deep fry each triangle in GHEE, on slow to medium flame till nice golden in color from both the sides. (they must not burn)
Place them on a kitchen towel and keep aside.
Take around 1/2 ltr of milk (for 8 to 10 square slices). Add sugar and/or sweetened condensed milk as per your taste, 1/2 tsp cardamom powder and few strands of saffron or yellow food color.
Cook it on medium flame for good 5-8 minutes.
Remove wok from flame and add 4 tbsp of cooking cream. And give it a good mix- preferably with the whisk.
Now put it back on the slow flame, you can also add evaporated milk 1 small tin (optional).
Cook for 5 minutes and let it cool for 10 minutes on room temperature.
Now arrange the BREAD slices from step 3 on a serving dish properly and start pouring the milk mixture slowly on each slice. (bread will absorb the mixture)
Once all the bread slices are nicely covered with mixture put remaining mixture all over the slices again.
Top them with silver edible paper (chandi ka warq), but if its not available you can use chopped nuts for garnishing
Keep it in fridge for 2-3 hrs. You can serve them còld or at room temperature.
