Ras Malai Recipe2016-11-16
A very easy Ras Malai recipe for those with a sweet tooth. Our recipe is quick to prepare and requires very few readily available ingredients.
- Milk powder 1 cup (heaped)
- Cardamon powder 1/3 ts
- Ground pistachio 2 tbs
- Flour ½ ts (leveled)
- Cooking Oil 1 tbs
- Baking powder 1 ts
- Egg 1
- Sugar 1 cup or to taste
- Milk 2 liters
First you need to make the milk for the balls so for it place milk on medium heat and let it boil,then add sugar and reduce the heat, let it thicken, till remains half in quantity
While milk is boiling start making balls, first mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl first.
Beat the egg separately and keep it a side.
Add oil in the dry mix and crumble with hands,you can use a whisk as well.
Gradually pour beaten egg in the crumble, keep whisking gently, you may don’t have to add the whole,if it was a large egg, so don’t pour in all at once. When forms a smooth,soft dough, and oil separates, make balls,round or oblong whatever shape you want. This quantity takes almost 14-15 balls depending on the size you make.Don’t let the balls rest you have drop them immediately into the milk. Cook them on high heat, gently pressing them downwards. When they have doubled in size, turn the flame off. Chill into the fridge for half an hour and serve 😉
