Nan Khatai is a famous Pakistani and Indian delicious and crunchy biscuits. Also called short bread biscuits.
- Flour 12 ounces
- Caster sugar 6 ounces
- Ghee melted and chilled 6 ounces
- Baking powder 2 tsp
- Baking soda ½ tsp
- Elachi powder 1 tsp
- Pistachio chopped 2 tbsp for topping
- Egg yolk for brushing
First of all in a bowl beat ghee and sugar together with elachi powder till it become light and fluffy.
In a seperate bowl sieve flour, baking powder and baking soda. Now fold this into ghee mixture, knead well with your palms.Keep it aside to rest for 15 minutes.
Make medium size ball, flatten them. Put them in a grease baking tray, brush biscuits with egg yolk, sprinkle chopped pistachio,
Bake on 190 degree for 15 minutes.
