Murgh Cholay



  • Chicken 1 ½ kg
  • Chickpeas 1 cup
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Onions (chopped) 2
  • Tomatoes 3
  • Cumin(roasted & crushed) 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • All Spice Powder 1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste1 tbsp
  • Red Chili Powder 1 tbsp
  • Ginger (chopped) 1 tbsp
  • Soda Bi Carbonate ½ tsp
  • Black lentil 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Take a pan and heat oil in it. Add onion and fry them. When the onion turn golden brown add chicken pieces. Slightly fry them till the chicken water dries.

Step 2

Now add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tbsp red chili powder, 1 tsp all spice powder and some salt.

Step 3

In a seprate pan boil chikpeas and black lentil and add soda bi carbonate. When the chickpeas are done, turn off the flame.

Step 4

Add chopped tomatoes into the chicken. Cook it. Now add chickpeas, 1 tbsp chopped ginger and 1 tsp roasted and crushed cumin with 2 cups of water. Cook it on a low flame. When the oil comes on the top its done. Serve hot with naan or kulcha.
