Chicken Stuffed Braided Bread2016-04-07
Bake your braided bread with chicken stuffed inside. Perfect snack for your kids.
- Ingredients for Dough:
- All purpose/plain flour 4 cups
- Instant yeast 1 tbsp
- Powdered milk 2 tbsp.
- Salt 1tsp
- Oil 4 tbsp
- Egg 1 (plus 1 for glazing)
- Ingredients for Chicken Filling:
- Chicken boiled and shredded 1 1/2 - 2 cups
- Small onion chopped finely 2
- Salt 1 tsp
- Black Pepper 1 tsp
- Garam Masala powder 1 tsp.
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
- Capsicum chopped 4
- Flour 2 tbsp
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Milk 1 cup
For the Filling In a pan heat 2 tbsp butter fry onion till soft then add 2 tbsp flour with 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp garam masala. Add the milk, cook till thick, mix in the shredded chicken add chopped capsicum and coriander leaves, remove and let it cool completely.
For the Dough In a bowl mix together 4 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp. milk powder, 1 tbsp yeast, 4 tbsp oil and 1 egg. Knead to a medium soft dough with slightly warm water. Keep it in air tight jar to rise for 1 hour. Divide the dough into two or three pieces depending on how big you want the loafs. Follow the steps as shown in the image to get the required result.
Once you are done with making the braid, put it on a greased oven tray, brush it with beaten egg and bake it at 200 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
