Beef Karhai


Mouth watering beef karahi prepared in traditional Pakistani style. A dish consisting of fried beef with tomato gravy and spices.


  • Beef ½ kg
  • Lemon 2
  • Green Chilies (finely chopped) 4
  • Tomatoes (chopped) 4
  • Coriander (finely chopped) 1 bunch
  • Oil as required
  • Yogurt ½ cup
  • White Cumin 1tsp
  • Black Pepper Corn 1tsp
  • Allspice Powder 1tsp
  • Red Chili Powder 1tbsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste 1tbsp
  • Ginger (finely chopped) 2tbsp
  • Whole Coriander 2tbsp
  • Salt as required


Step 1

Take a wok and put beef, pieces, yogurt ,red chili powder ,salt, all spice powder and ginger garlic paste. Cook it on a low flame.

Step 2

While the meat is cooking grind whole coriander ,white cumin and black pepper corn.

Step 3

When the water in beef dries add chopped tomatoes and ground spices.

Step 4

Cook till beef tenders then add oil.

Step 5

When the oil comes on the top sprinkle lemon juice, garnish with chopped ginger, chopped coriander,and chopped green chilies.

Step 6

Serve with chapati or rice.
